“a christmas carol” by charles dickens
early in the story, (stave 1 – marleys ghost) scrooges nephew arrives, full of the christmas spirit.
scrooge and nephew have a short discussion, during which they discuss their opposite views concerning the holiday.
the nephew invites scrooge to dinner the next day.
and then…
“Scrooge said that he would see him—yes, indeed he did. He went the whole length of the expression, and said that he would see him in that extremity first.”
i just dont understand this.
see him where? in hell?
what do you think?
